Love, Loss & Dementia

It's the toughest look at dementia that I've seen. The courage of all those who've featured is astounding.

One million people in the UK are living with it today, plus their families. It is going to affect all of us. It's brutal at the end.

I try to be open about it, but I wrestle with protecting my parents' dignity. Dementia took that, not me. I have to share as we continue to grow Myfolks, as others have, so we can try to bring the changes we desperately need.

This pic is of my mam, Dorothy, at the beginning and the end of her journey with dementia. My dad Alex is there well into his journey. They would be pleased to make a difference by raising awareness.

Thank you all on the programme for your courage. Thanks to Anna Richardson, all of the families featured, the Alzheimer's Society and Channel 4.
